      Hi Tracey,
I bought two redcurrant bushes and two gooseberry bushes from Wilkie the year before last. You just wouldn’t believe the amount of currants I got, I even sold some there were that many. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Raspberries which failed altogether. Can’t win all the time I suppose.
      Keep on growing.

Hi Tracey, this is the very first time I ever bothered commenting on somebody’s website! (hurray, you’re the first one!!!)
Anyways, I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoy your habitat on the web, and the reason I write this is, because I keep coming back to your site; Often I Google (usually for images), for example today, “growing potatoes in pots”, and what catches my eye first (???) - a section of YOUR website!
This has now happend so many times, that I just HAVE TO let you know how much I enjoy your pages.
I am a 43 year old Swiss bloke who is (has been living for 20-odd years) in the land down-under.
I have a reasonably large block of land (25×60meters or so), and since I was a little boy in Switzerland, I always loved growing tihings, but only lately have I seriousely started growing vegatables (and things).
Anyway - so far the very best item I’m growing seems to be my cucumbers (4 pots - 5 plants, so far already 18 little cucumbers, plus 50 - 70 beautiful flowers.)
I also did fairly well with basil, mint and chives, but anything else(apart from radishes, of course, doesn’t seem to work for me, and I think the problem is that I “look after my babies too well”, i.e. I water them too often!?.
Well, thanks for listening to me, and I wish that your green thumb keeps growing to the max. - I really, really love learning from your excellent site.
Cheers, Rolf (Broken Hill, NSW, Australia)

      Hi Rolf,
I feel honored that you chose my website to comment on first, thanks for that. I was wondering who was searching for growing potatoes in pots but it is the time of year for that type of growing.

The best of luck with your cucumbers, this year is my first time growing them and I have 13 small (marketmore).

Radishes just seem to keep themselves to themselves, a bit of watering and they still seem to grow. Sometimes I even forget to pull them up as they are usually so quick to grow.

      Thanks again for your comments.
      Tracey
